Fat Blossom Farm

A small creative family farm in southwest Michigan

Situated in beautiful southwest Michigan, we are a small family farm and we care for about fifty acres of beautiful, diverse land replete with rolling hills, walking trails, deep woods, a moat, and of course, wonderful, fertile, dirt. We've been working this particular dirt since 2008 and have about 20 acres in cultivation. We are committed to appreciation of the land, sustainable growing practices,  and sharing the wonder of nature.

This fun farm-y tea towel is full of vegetable drawings, illustrated, designed and printed by Vanessa with green ink on organic natural flour sack.

The organic cotton towels were produced by Mehera Shaw, which is a pretty incredible company. The following is an excerpt from their website:

Mehera Shaw... is a fair trade and sustainable manufacturer. We have created a transparent, vertical supply chain using fair labour standards, sustainable fabrics and artisan printed textiles. We are committed to cradle-to-cradle production and produce all garments in-house. We are [also] a member of the Fair Trade Federation in the US and are a vertical company which allows us to personally confirm that all ethical standards are maintained within our production studio in India. We use only natural fibers and whenever possible, certified organic cottons sourced in India.

Mehera Shaw Foundation Trust is the non-profit sister of Mehera Shaw, working specifically with artisans to develop upcycled textile products, and to create cooperative, micro-social enterprise and mentor-based education and training centers for artisan communities. MSFT works in an integrated and fully transparent manner with Mehera Shaw Textiles to help people help themselves without discrimination. Our philosophy is one of emancipation through work, skill building, [and} dignity. For more detailed information, please see our foundation website at: meherashawfoundation.org
