Shopping Night (no kids) on Friday, December 6th, 6:30pm-9:30pm
Saturday, December 7th, 10:00am–4:00pm

Come visit the Waldorf School in Rogers Park! Friends, neighbors, community members; All are welcome. We invite all Chicago families to our Winter Festival and community Artisan Crafts Fair

‘Tis the season of appreciation and celebration in the making of festive holiday decorations, presents and handmade crafts for gifting. Inspired by this year’s Holiday Fair theme, Simply Spirit, the Chicago Waldorf School is focused on the values of sharing and coming together in community for the spirit of the season.

Artisanal & Handmade Crafts Vendors Fair
Over 30 vendors will sell special handmade crafts and artistic goods all day Saturday in an artisan’s marketplace. Additionally the fair is also offering a FREE Friday evening PARENT & ADULT ONLY shopping night from 6:30 to 9:30pm. While enjoying an evening of socializing, shop our wonderful Waldorf vendors (who have been selectively juried for their artisanal wares that align with the Waldorf tradition of handcrafting with natural materials and traditional processes).

Fun Entertainment: Waldorf Students & the All-Star Dads Band Perform
3:00-4:00pm- The nine-piece ALL-STAR DADS BAND plays songs for the whole family – from current hits to classic favorites. Our Holiday Fair has a tradition of the kids rocking out and dancing to the tunes of the All-Star Dads Band. Because they put a smile on everyone’s face and a beat in everyone’s feet, we are SO happy they are going to be returning to the Fair. (5th year reunion of this CWS parent band!)
1:00-2:00 pm- WALDORF STUDENTS play in orchestra, band, vocal ensemble and African drumming performances.

Make Toys, Gifts & Natural Handmades; Including Children’s Crafts & Family Activities
In the Waldorf tradition that celebrates the value of “crafting” visit our Care to Share table, Children’s House(crafts for 6 yrs. old and under), our school photographer, Brian Warling, will shoot family portraits, there will be jump-rope making, candle-dipping, Waldorf Recycled, a dragon shoot and other favorites will all be there at the fair, along with much more, of course.

Share Food in a Communal Meal with Local Food Vendors  11:00am – 1:30pm
Simple, delicious, nutritious, hot foods will be served in the gymnasium starting at 11:00am. Also in the gym and the back of the auditorium will be baked goods, which will be available ALL day, along with coffee, water and juice. The gym will be filled with plenty of tables and chairs for everyone to sit, relax and enjoy a meal or something sweet with their friends and family. Our children can run around while grown-ups can enjoy a second cup of coffee while seeing ambient presentations from the school’s Alumni Council and CWS Greenery Table!

Celebrate “Simply Spirit” in the Holiday Season

Every year, the Holiday Fair’s main goal is to be a friend-raiser. We invite the entire Chicagoland community to visit our school to witness the amazing spirit of Waldorf and the power and magic that happens when we work with head, heart, and hands. Our goal for Holiday Fair 2013 is to celebrate that spirit with as much simplicity and joy as we can!

Season’s Greetings everyone, we can’t wait for you to join in the fun…
